In order to respond to study task 1 based on colour theory I originally decided to create one book that would feature all my research with and example of IKB on a piece of card which would sit in between each double spread. However upon printing discovered that this wouldn't be possible and therefore decided to create two booklets held together with a sleeve, one feature all six example of IKB and their research and the other featuring my colour swatch and supporting research(see figure 1-4). Overall I am pleased with my final design as I feel the use of variation in paper weights works effectively as the lighter weight allows for the larger book to be handled easily whilst the thicker weight allows the small book to hold together nicely. I feel the layout of the book works successfully in both cases as I’ve tried to keep a similar layout across both books without following a particularly traditional layout style, however the typeface used across both book of ultra light Avenir Next is slight too small due to the light stroke weight within the smaller book.
