Penguin: Cover Development

In order to further develop the cover, a back cover and spin needed to be developed. Therefor I decided to continue the left aligned idea on the back and extend the red line across in order to emphasise the dived created by the line (see figure 1). Within the other final designs the left align concept was also applied to the back cover in order to keep a consistent theme throughout the cover (see figures 2-3). Furthermore I also experimented with the use of green to represent the government, as the green is a key feature within the Houses of Parliament (see figure 4). However this lacked impact, failing to stand out in the same way the red experiments did. Furthermore the red draws attention and represents the power held by those in the establishment more effectively than the green. Within all three designs the back cover has been left quite simple to allow the focus of the cover to be the symbolism of the design on the front and also allow the copy to be read easily without any distractions.
