In order to determine which outcome is more appropriate peer feedback was gained. This found that although the repeat pattern was aesthetically pleasing it had a younger feel to it making it more appropriate for students rather than those in their late 20s who have more disposable income. However a few points where raised such as combining the two ideas, having the dots within the repeat pattern to see if creates a more mature impression. Furthermore peer feedback found the 90-degree idea more closely resembled a ceramic brand as the smaller pattern and simple type attract a more sophisticated older audience. It was suggested the dots could be textured to better represent the textures found within clay and stoneware when fired. In addition the more simple designs where the type is simply featured on its side where favour as these felt more appropriate for the audience as the subtle of the design fit a more mature market.
Response:
Based on peer feedback the two pattern where combined however the design still felt more geared towards a younger audience (see figure 1). Therefore the simple designs favoured in peer feedback were developed into nets for the final packaging (see figure 2).
