Based on previous typographic experiments I've explored how these can be simplified, allowing a typographic response to be incorporated within the pinball machine (see figure 1). Instructions not included represents that there is not one set of rules to follow within life/your career as your going to make mistakes and try new things. Throughout these experiments, Cirka has been used which creates a more vintage aesthetic to the pinball machine as inspired by early pinball machines (see figure 2). Having a simple type within the centre of the machine creates a focal point that isn't too distracting from the holes/routes themselves. Although the design works well in black and white, colour or pattern needed to be incorporated within to create a bright engaging design. Therefore older machines were used for reference to try and enhance the vintage aesthetic whilst still keep the machine modern (see figures 3-4). Although these experiments are more colourful and engaging than others, I fell other experiments featuring illustrations or those based on the manual layout are more successful.
