Test Your Fate: Visual Research

In order to gain visual inspiration, pinball machine manuals have been explored based on the idea that the machine can act as a guide to students and graduates showcasing different options they have after graduation. The graphic nature of pinball machines is transferred in interesting ways throughout the manual mainly through the front cover. However some have visual elements throughout (see figures 1-3) which is interesting to see how the distinctive graphic elements work alongside copy heavy layouts. Exploring the covers of different manuals showcases a more refined/toned down graphical element of whats featured within the machine. This is interesting as I want to create a pinball machine that is more graphically refined than traditional illustrative versions, as I want the focus to be the concept behind the machine.
