Scratch cards is a satirical piece of work by Isobel Platt highlighting the redundancy of scratch cards. The machine invites users to play/win however releases a reel of discarded, collected and scratched cards that are now worthless. The bright engaging machine entices users in the same way the possibility of winning thousands entices scratch card users. The simplicity of the machine allows the concept to work really well, with a simple handle to spin which revelas the scratch cards. This allows the bright colours and details in the scratch card to be the focus rather than the physical interaction with the machine, although the excitement gained from this interaction is key.
