Initial Sketches and Ideas

In order to respond to feedback given in my initial group crit session I have developed some sketches experimenting with different ways to represent defiance within certain letterforms. I've experimented with a variety of techniques to create my initial ideas and feel my most successful experimentation are those we feature lengthen ascenders and descenders. I've also looked into experimenting with negative space within the letterforms however I don't feel this successfully represents defiance. In order to further develop my ideas I plan to develop my most successful ideas digitally, however I plan to get feedback in order to decide which designs are most effective.
