Studio Brief 2: Anthony Burrill

Anthony Burrill is a graphic designer, print maker and fine artists who is known for his bold and colourful typographic prints. Language is very important part of Burril's work with his best known print being that featuring the slogan 'work hard and be nice to people'(see figure 1). Burrill studied at Leeds Polytechnic and completed a MA in graphic design at Royal School of arts in London but is now based in Isle of Oxley, Kent. In relation to Burrill's work as both a designer and fine artist he says he draws inspiration for both aspects of his work for both his commercial projects and personal work but approaches each differently as he is influenced by audience and deadline when doing commercial work however can experiment and let him self wonder more when completing personal work. I have referenced Burrill's use of typography (see figure 1 and 2) within my experimentations (see figure 3) in order to create a powerful impact on the audience through a strong use of typography  to represent the suffragette riot.
