Design for Screen: Personas

Personas:
characteristics of archetypal users, fictitious profiles of potential users. Personas encompass a number of different people in one in order to help solve problems and identity needs. 
  • reflect on data found
  • focus on the present
  • be realistic
  • describe challenging target audience 
  • provide insight into the users context, behaviours, attitudes, needs, challenges, occupation, goals and motivations  

Target Audience:
Room 136 will look to attract those within the creative industry both within Leeds and the rest of the UK.

Charlie:

Job: Head of recruitment at a design agency
Interest:
Work, 
Personality:
Serious, very dedicated to his job and takes himself too seriously 
Motivations:
Identify graduates to recruit/ invite for interview 
View students work without having to come to Leeds

Matt:
Gender: Male
Location: Leeds 
Age:35
Job: Runs small studio
Interest:
finding new places, trainers, coffee, enjoys creative collaberations
Personality:
fun, adventures, creative, 
Motivations: 
finding new graduates to collaborate with, interns and graduates to join his studio 

Emma:
Gender: Female
Location: Leeds
Age: 28
Job: Junior Designer
Interest:
Independent shops, local sourced food and drink, involved in the local creative community 
Personality:
Open-minded, collaborative, approachable, free-spirt 
Motivations: 
general interest in new talent, see if theres anyone she'd like to collaborate with

Age: 21
Job: New Graduate
Interest:
Illustration, football, beer, editorials 
Personality:
Loud, energetic, enthusiastic and friendly  
Motivations: 
Inspiration, looking at other graduates/soon-to-be graduates work

Successful, superior, hard to approach 
Motivations: 
viewing graduates work, general interest in new talent entering the industry 

Summary:
The above personas each have individual motivations for using the sight but are all active within the creative community and are therefor design literate. Therefor the site needs to speak to a design community by featuring aspects that will draw them in and create a talking point form them to discuss and show to others. The common like between each person is there looking for new and exciting designers that are producing work they've not seen before. This new and exciting impactful impression also needs to be achieved within the site itself.
