Test Your Fate: Construction Plan

In order to organise the production process of the pinball machine a construction plan has been developed. This was necessary as many of the elements within the machine interconnect, making it difficult to determine which elements needed to be created first. The base and board have already been created therefore the order of adding the design and implementing the elements needed to be determined. Furthermore the different elements such as obstacles and mechanisms have also been created using mdf. In order to determine the order of production, the production processes needed to be chosen. Initially the base and obstacles were going to be painted to match the board sticker, however getting an exact colour match would be incredibly difficult and may also result in an uneven finish over such as large area. Therefore stickers will be printed for the base and board to cover all pannels alongside smaller stickers which will cover the surface of each obstacle. The obstacles will also be painted so the sides of the wood are also coloured. In relation to the legs of the machine, these will need to be painted as using stickers for this area is impractical, as the sticker could potentially were down quite quickly.

Plan:
Base Prep:
Add final holes/gaps into base.
Paint inside the box
Paint obstacles.

Designs:
wipe down and add sticker designs

Construction:
Determine where sound will go.
Implement sound and obstacles together.
Add flippers
Add plunger
Attach base to base, adding acrylic and lights in the final stage.
Attach legs.
