In order to finalise the design of the pinball machine final feedback has been gained on the design so some adjustments can be made before printing. Upon showing the final designs, it was suggested to alter the hierarchy of the clouds as they stood out too much and became one of the main elements, rather than a supporting element. However the overall feedback was positive with both tutors and peers thinking the design fit the concept of the machine well. In addition to gaining feedback on the main design, I've gained feedback on which design would be best suited to the backglass (See figures 1-2). Feedback stated that the more simple designs were most successful (see figure 3) however some found the thinner lines more appropriate whereas others prefer thicker. Therefore I've created an in-between for the final outcome, allowing the characters to be less overpowering, making the text the main element that stands out (see figure 4).
Response:
In order to reduce the focus on the clouds a few alterations have been made, such as reducing the stroke of the clouds (see figures 5-6). Although reducing the thickness of the strokes allowed other elements to stand out, I felt it made the overall design lack impact as a pinball machine is supposed to be bold whereas I feel these experiments are not as successful as previous ones. Therefore I looked at making certain elements bigger to balance the clouds whilst keep the stroke the same (see figure 7). This was more successful as it allowed the design of the machine to maintain the bold elements whilst not making the clouds too overpowering. Peer feedback found this experiment to be the most successful too, therefore it will be used as the final print.
