Test Your Fate: Sourcing Light

In order to incorporate lights within the machine strip LEDs have bee sources as they can be stuck to the sides of the machine easily, casting light across the whole board. This was the easiest and simplest way to incorporate light within the machine. Both battery and plug operated lights have been looked at with, plug based lights being more readily available (see figures 1-4). The only drawback with plug based lights is the positioning of the machine however this option has a wider range of lengths whereas battery operated lights tend to be shorter, which would fit around the whole machine. Around 2-3m of LEDs are needed, however many battery operated options found where around 1-2m in length. Therefore plug based lights have been used (see figure 5). Another key consideration when looking at lights was that I needed white light but also wanted the option to explore colour if it was appropriate, therefore lights that show both have been sources (see figure 5).
