In order to gain a greater understanding of the Street Feast brand we have looked into existing promotional material, which presented a problem as when conducting research it was difficult to find many existing adverts. Upon reviewing a few posters there is a common layout followed with the use of the Street Feast logo featuring heavily within the design (see figures 1-3) with the addition of photography to showcase the atmosphere of each location. However personally I feel this approach fails to engage their target audience as it's a very basic approach to promotional material and fails give young adults a reason to attend. Furthermore the heavy use of block type inspired by the logo creates a dated impression on young adults and fails resonate with the audience. Furthermore these posters fail to convey the different themes/personalities of each location which is there selling point. This is an aspect we plan to use within our initial experiments. The summer time influence is visible within these ads through the use of the sky and bright colours however this fails to demand attention from the audience limiting the effectiveness of this approach. Furthermore the condensed type makes the information difficult to read at small type sizes and from far way/at a glance, further reducing the effectiveness of the posters as you have to be up close to read the information.
