Micro Music Genre: Feedback

Upon developing some more designs based on the hand motifs used within the pin badges I gained some quick feedback from one of my tutors before a larger group crit.
  • doesn't fully communicate fan culture, hand doesn't transfer onto flag, worked better as badge
  • others more about Everton rather than fan culture and the music genre not relevant
  • focus on chants, encouraging fans to chant more

Group crit feedback:
In order to gain feedback on my designs so far I decided to present all the ideas I had experimented with mainly focusing on the scratch cards and flag idea as these where the most plausible (see figures 1-2).

  • scratch of cards:
    • can get ink to screen print with, silver
    • might be ale to print on top but not sure
    • show community as everyone would be involved
    • more engaging
  • flag:
    • greater impact in exhibition
    • could pass the flag around fans, could they add to it
    • use the back of the flag
      • one side communicates to fans other to opposition
    • could be massive
    • something can be taken from the flag
      • sticker
      • section of flag
    • Doesn't have to be material
      • paper
    • consider how to make engaging, how fans will interact with the flag
    • consider space within the exhibition
      • recreate home and away fans, two flags
      • opposite ends of exhibition
    • what do you want fans to do with it
      • as it goes through crowd does something change
    • Bring back to clapping
      • what do you want people to do
      • perspective
      • what will fans get from the flag
      • bring home and away fans together
  • Audience:
    • who will they be?
    • what will they take from the flag?
    • what will they do/interaction?
In order to respond to this feedback I plan to consider the audience and the key questions above such as how fans will interact with the flag and what will they gain from using it as I think these considerations is what's missing from my existing designs.
