Product Range Distribution: Invite Developments

Based on further research conducted into statements made by Donald Trump via Twitter I used this information to inform the content of the invites, whilst basing the design on the layout of a passport to strengthen the use of MRC. Initial experiments looked empty/unfinished due to the space left where a passport photo would traditionally be which lead to the incorporation to the information featured on earlier experiments (see figures 1). Although the use of the presidential seal add authenticity to previous design I feel it almost has the opposite effect within these experiments as it clashes with the aesthetic which look very modern rather than traditional. This lead to other experiments featuring 'drain the swamp' (see figures 2-3) a common phrase adopted by Trump when discussing the need to rid the world of fake news. In addition I've looked to incorporate the hands (see figure 4) illustrations within the invite as the award would be this shape in order to comment of Trumps involvement within fake news. However I think the other experiments are more successful as the use of the presidential seal does add authenticity to the invite but just isn't as effective as my more traditional experiments. In addition the use of 'drain the swamp' works very well within the invites as it hints to Trumps involvement within the awards without being too obvious. Furthermore the issue of adding authenticity will be solved during production through the use of high quality paper, foiling and embossing where possible. These processes will add value to the designs making them more official.

I also experimented with the use of older experiments alongside newer experiments using MRC. These experiments have a more traditional aesthetic however they could be developed further during the production process (see figure 5) by foiling the hands on the front of the invites. Foiling the presidential seal was too complex during previous experiments due to the different tones and shades within the seal. Although these experiments are more traditional, allowing the invites to look more authentic I feel the other experiments informed by the passport layout are more informed by research.
