Short Brief: 60 Sec Documentary Animation Development

Due to the jumpy disjointed feel to the first animation the transitions between each hand sign have been shortened in order to allow the animation to flow better (see figure 1). Furthermore each trim path needed to have the same timings so that each illustration would fit within the 60 sec time restriction, this also added to the flow of the animation as it gave each illustration consistency.  In addition to shortening the transition time adding a reverse trim path to each illustration was incorporated as just jumping from one to the other was a little harsh (see figures 2). This allows each illustration to appear and disappear in the same format adding consistency throughout the animation. However once this was applied to all animations the whole animation exceeded 60 sec so simple transitions where used. (see figure 3) Although the use of red was effective the blue (see figure 4) from the RADP was incorporated as this allowed the lines to stand out more as a greater contrast was created between dark and light. The main issue when developing the animation further came when the text to explain the narrative needed to be added. This was due to certain aspects having more explanation, therefore the amount of text didn't match up to the length of the illustrations (see figure 5). Some text was edited to match up with the illustrations but when explaining the section about legal defence the text and illustrations are out of sink however this was unavoidable without missing out key sections of information (see figure 6-7). Furthermore the text is only out of sink by a second, limiting the impact on the overall animation.
