The Library Paintings: Brainstorm
Based on the brief provided I've brainstormed (see figure 1) different word associations and point which I feel could be explored more to help develop ideas. This has helped as it has identified areas that I can research more to help identify visual language associated within different topics such as library organisational systems and blueprints that can be used to develop the logo. Throughout this process considerations have been made in relation to the audience identifying visual cues they are likely to recognise such as library systems as the older audience will be more familiar with these symbols. Galleries have been looked at due to the format of The Library Paintings which takes on elements of a physical and virtual gallery due to the use of Instagram. Therefore the idea of looking at blueprints and floor plans came to mind as these are visual elements of the gallery experience that everyone recognises. Furthermore this extends to the format information tags take tending to use a simple left aligned layout. The actual room has been consider within this idea which needed further development as the client wouldn't want a detailed representation of the house used within The Library Paintings.
