Luxury Coffee: Production Developments

To start preparing my designs for print I've conducted further test prints in order to finalise dimensions and create a box that will hold the three test tube samples as part of the gift set. For this I decided to create a box inspired by test tube racks (see figure 1-2) as the concept of the equation is based on the scientific process of coffee production and how coffee roasting is said to be an exact science (see figure 1-3). In relation to the gift packaging (see figure 1) black and white has been used as the colours featured within the branding relate to each specific roast, meaning they couldn't be used on the box design as the colours needed to represent the brand and all the roasts, which couldn't be achieved if one of the existing colours was used therefore leading to the use of black and white. When developing this idea initial plain tests where conducted in order to determine the dimensions needed (see figures 4-6) as I wanted the topography lines on the base to be visible when the sleeve top was over the box, meaning I had to test different heights to see what length would allow for this visibility.  These tests allowed me to identify the right measurements (see figure 7) allowing for the nets to be made (see figure 8-9) which could then be digitally printed. Overall the final nets should fit together well, allowing for a high quality finish to be achieved to showcase the luxury nature of the coffee brand and packaging.
