Secret 7 2018: Production

To help determine which out of the two final designs (see figure 1-2) are most successful I've digitally printed both designs with the intension of cutting out the circles seen (in figure 3) to see if this improves the visual aesthetic of the design. Both designs printed well with the colours turning out well with no patches, due to the high quality of the digital printer used allowing the production process to go smoothly. Furthermore in order to achieve smooth even folds, I used the binding machine in the print room which creates an straight even impression in the paper allowing a crisp fold to be achieved when creating the sleeve. In relation to the design seen in figure 3-4, it was difficult to cut out the circles, leading to some jagged edges and an un-smooth finish (see figure 5) . As a result creating an unprofessional finish, furthermore I feel this design isn't as successful as the other design (see figure) as the fails to add anything to the design and distracts from the chords which represent how lost in the music Jeff Buckley would get. Consequently I will be submitting the design seen in figures 6-7 to Secret 7 as I feel this is a better representation of the song and Buckley as an artist.
