Street Feast Collaboration: Action Plan/ Feedback

Lizzie and I met up in university to discuss which of the designs I created where most successful and how they could be separated for the screen printing process in order to progress the collaboration process. We discussed our initial ideas and how I'de visualised these (see figures 1-3) with figure 4 being chosen as the design to progress with as we both felt the bold use of colour fit the campaign which would be based in the summer. Furthermore out of the refined design (see figure 3) Lizzie felt the experiments using the small illustrations are most successful as repeating #whatami created a harsh contrast compared with the small illustrations which create a more subtle contrast allowing the text to be more legible. Furthermore we both felt the concept behind the poster needed to be further enforced by incorporating the Twitter logo to strengthen the cue for people to search the # to see what they need to do with the phrase, as a tweet form Street Feast will come up stating if you know the location in the riddle, say #whatami on arrival to reveal a free treat. We felt this approach to the campaign would address Street Feast's main concern of increasing footfall as it would give people an incentive to go to the different locations as there would be the opportunity to win a prize at each location. Furthermore we chose the colours which would feature within the camping, those being orange, red and blue, with a colour being assigned to each location to further hint to the location of the prize in a similar way to the illustrations used.

Action Plan:
This feedback allowed for a final decision to be made on the design of the posters for the campaign we decided to make an action plan for when to screen print incase any additional alterations need to be made. We decided to experiment with the initial design seen in figure 3 on Wednesday 7th March to see what materials we wanted to use for the final design and to identify any issues that may occur during the printing process. We decided to experiment with tracing paper, newsprint, normal card and cardboard with Lizzie being in charge with collecting materials and screen printing. However I had access to cardboard so this was organised by me. In order to make sure we could print on Wednesday we went and reserved two A1 screen so we could get started in the morning on Wednesday. We have given ourselves the week of the 5th-9th March to experiment and fix any issues with the final posters being printed during the week of 12th-16th.
