Based on feedback gained form both of my tutors I've decided to develop my chosen design further to see if combining the chords and phrase 'go with it' could work together (see figures 1-3). Throughout these experiments I've altered the placement of the text to see if it will work within the gaps in the pattern. However the main issue when attempting this experiment it making the phrase flow correctly and be understood whilst not looking awkward or squashed in between the gaps in the pattern (see figures 2-3). Furthermore I've experimented with repeating the phrase throughout the pattern to communicate the importance this phrase had to Jeff Buckley. Personally I think figure 4 is the most successful variation from bellow is allows both the text and pattern to be see clearly, however the text does overpower the pattern which was originally meant to be the sole focus of the design as it comments on how Buckely gets lost in the music when performing, as its just him and his guitar. However I personally feel my initial design (see figure 5) is stronger as I don't think combining both ideas adds anything to the design, saying this it could be argued that combining the two ideas creates a stronger representation of the song by using text and imagery to visualise both the song and the musician, rather than the song alone.
