The little book of craft beer, (see figures 1-4) ,
In relation to the Little Book of Craft Beer, the illustrations throughout the book created an interesting publication when compared with the information provided and would appear to attract at younger audience similar to the target audience of 18-30 year olds which Beer Identities is aimed at. I will draw inspiration from the colours used throughout this publication in order to inform the colours used within the illustrations or typography. The other examples I've been given are very informative and focus on educating beer drinkers further whereas Beer Identities focuses more of beer culture by looking at those who drink it. Consequently the illustrations and design of the Little Book of Craft Beer will draw inspiration from beer culture as a whole in order to make a unique publication.
This book looks to have an older target audience, aged between 30-50 as its heavily information based. Beer Identities is aimed at a younger more contemporary audience which isn't fully reflected in this example. Additionally the serif typeface adds a traditional aspect to the guide which is something I want to avoid within Beer Identities.
The Pocket Book of Craft Beer (see figure 7-8):
This example is very information based and doesn't reflect the audience that Beer Identities is aimed at. However most books on craft beer are very similar to those featured bellow, there are not many current publications which explore the personalities of those beer drinkers. The colours used within this publication reflect the subject however I plan to make Beer Identities more colourful.
