Massimo Vignelli: Vignelli Canon
Massimo Vignelli was a Italian designer famous for designing identities for companies such as American Airlines. In his book the Vignelli Canon he discuses timelessness and simplicity of design which is an ongoing aspect of design I've discovered this year. He states that 'we like design that is clear, simple and enduring' which involves stripping design to its core and creating simple and effective design, looking at primary colour and shapes as there core values are timeless due to there simplicity. This simplicity is achieved as these shapes are not subjective as they don't follow trends as they survive on a common understanding that they represent certain things. This simplicity is an aspect of design I will include within studio brief 4 when developing illustrations.
