Rationale:
The series of mini booklets created for the Speaking from Experience brief makes observations and gives advice about the experience gained of the first year of the Graphic Design course. Gathering information on the tutors favourite colour and font created a set of tailored designs to their preferences, providing the students an insight into the tutors personalities. The use of screen printing for ‘Ben’s’ booklet indicates that the modules run by him are more hands on and traditional, whereas the other booklets which are digitally printed indicate that these modules are more theoretical and digital. Additionaly the thickness of each book represents the time spent on that modules, with 'Ben's' booklet being the thickest as this is the module you spend the most time doing. The variation in typefaces make the booklets unique to one another but the consistency of patterns throughout link the booklets together. The illustrations provided of the tutors will allow new students to identity them easily, allowing them to settle in quicker, furthermore the ‘rules’ and ‘translations’ provided will allow them to get a grasp on the course and the tutors quicker.
