D&AD: How News is Consumed In Digital Age

With 92% of the UK population having access to the internet news sources have changed dramatically with those aged 45 and under mainly getting their news via online platforms. Younger people increasingly find their news from social media and apps, as 25% of people use social media to obtain news. Although some are worried that obtaining news solely from social media would lead people to be less informed, research suggests that those who obtain news from social media are more likely to go to other news sources to investigate further.

Overall this is interesting as it suggests social media website and apps such as Instagram and Facebook are a good way to target a younger audience and drive people towards the Times website.
