D&AD: Mock Up Animation

In order to make the animations look like social media adverts, I've mocked them up as sponsored posts on Instagram to help demonstrate how they would appear on peoples feeds and how they can subscribe by clicking on the post. Overall this process was quite complex due to the layers involved in creating the popup/loading screen that takes the viewer to The Times website (see figures 1-5). Furthermore, a lot of the images used needed to be edited so sections could be removed such as the screen in the iPhone to allow other elements to appear on top. Once this had been tackled the main issue became timing, making sure the post as still visible whilst the pop-up screen appeared to create a high-quality representation of how the adverts would look on social media (see figures 3-5). Once one mock-up had been created it was easily applied to the other animations due to the square format of Instagram posts, allowing the other animations to be placed over the previous. However, some elements had to sped up for certain versions due to the original animation beign shorter, hwoever this was easily done y moveing all layers after the animation plays up the timeline.
