Based on initial layout designs I've explored more developed layouts in Indesign. Throughout the specimen secondary imagery has been used as public figures such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and The Rock are often used to represent the unrealistic masculine ideas portrayed within magazines such as Men's Health. Furthermore, they show an extreme that can result due to excessive bodybuilding and steroid use. The Greek god Adonis has been used in figure - to showcase the origin of the name and also explain where the 'perfect male body' stems from. Splitting the image explores the use of two sides/ perspectives by spreading the image, however incorporating the text within this layout provided some difficulties. Due to the need for some of the letters to be in white to show up against the painting and some to be black to show up on the white background. However once the different characters had been aligned both colours could easily be read. Furthermore having each column of text in the centre of the page rather than the left has been explored as having the text in the centre allows the negative space to emphasise the tall thin layout, communicating the concept more effectively. Furthermore the testosterone molecule has been used to represent the section discussing steroids as this was more appropriate than using pills or needles. This has been combined with Arnold Schwarzenegger to showcase the effects anabolic steroids can have.
